Big Dorms

“I’ve been to other schools and the dorms there are so much smaller – you have ten times the space here and just one roommate, where other places you have three or four. The facilities are really nice and the view is so beautiful. I love the campus.”

One-on-One Time

“The classes are so small which is great for me, because I need that one-on-one time with the professor. If I’m struggling, I know I can get help. I have one professor who is absolutely brilliant, and his class is very challenging. I wrote an essay and was disappointed in my grade. I visited him during office hours and he was able to really explain the question to me. I finally understood the context of the essay and the materials. I revised my essay and improved my grade to a B.”

Just Like Mom Makes It

“The cafeteria is so accommodating…if you have a recipe that your mom makes, you give it to them and they will make it for you. They serve a lot of Japanese food that I had never tried before, but now I really like it. With the buffet, I can try a little of everything and if I like it, come back and have a lot more!”

I Like Field Research

“My learning cluster was called Poverty in Orange County. It was a challenging course for me because we had a lot of work, but it was very eye-opening because Orange County is such an affluent area. I liked doing field research and learning from people outside the university environment.”

 Making New Friends Every Day

“The most useful skill I have learned so far is making new friends. Now I have a lot of different groups I hang out with. And all of those people have friends, so I’m making new friends every day. I have gotten to know many upperclassmen who help me in choosing classes and answering questions.”
