Amparo Font joined the faculty of Soka University of America, Aliso Viejo as an Adjunct Professor of Spanish in August 2002.  She holds an MA in Multicultural Education with an emphasis in Spanish from University of San Francisco. Font is a native speaker of Spanish and a graduate of Elementary Teaching from Havana, Cuba in 1961.

Font received a Certificate of Spanish for Public Service from CSU Dominguez Hills and taught Spanish from elementary through senior college levels in Los Angeles County.  Font also worked as a translator for the public school district and parochial councils.

Font was elected to the office of Governing Board Member for the Centinela Valley Union High School District Font was on the Board of Education from 1989-1993.  She was also elected to Sociedad Nacional Hispánica, Honorary Society, Sigma Delta Pi, Chapter Nu Si.  Font also served as an editorial reviewer for ¡Hola Amigos! Houghton Mifflin Company, in October 2001. 

Font currently enjoys teaching at Soka University and Saddleback College in Mission Viejo.  Her personal interests include communicating with her family in Cuba, the arts, music and the activities of her grandchildren.

Font resides in Irvine, CA with her husband, surrounded by their children and grandchildren.
