Soka University of America (SUA) is a private, 4-year, liberal arts university located in south Orange County.   The Soka information technology department is seeking a Help Desk Technician Level 2 to serve our campus community.

Job Description

The Help Desk Technician Level 2 is responsible for providing the following services:

  • Personal computer (Microsoft Windows and Mac OSX – both physical and virtual) software and hardware support
  • Support desktop software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Creative Suite, Office 365, and associated software

  • Basic TCP/IP network support and network (wired and wireless) endpoint configuration

  • Multi-function print, copy, fax, and scanning hardware and software support

  • Voice over IP (VOIP) telephone hardware configuration and deployment

  • Basic audio visual classroom technology

  • Basic user training and guidance with respect to information and data security

This person acts as the first level contact for desktop users, answering the help desk phone line, and logging service requests.  Excellent personal communication skills required.


The candidate should be able to provide excellent customer service and have the ability to resolve various technical problems. A positive attitude and a willingness to help others is highly valued. Candidates for the Help Desk Technician Level 2 should have 2-3 years experience as a computer technician with sound knowledge of TCP/IP networking, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office products, Apple OSX, personal computers (desktops, laptops, tablets, etc.), VOIP telephony, and printing/imaging systems.  The candidate should have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. 


Microsoft, Apple, Cisco, Vmware, or A+, technical training and certifications required.  Related associate or bachelor’s degree is highly desired.
