While probably best known for his seven-year stint with Barry Flanagan in the group Hapa, Nathan Aweau brings many years of musical experience to his growing solo career.  His first solo recording, “E Apo Mai” garnered him the Na Hoku Hanohano Award as Male Vocalist of the Year in 2003, as well as Song of the Year for the title song.  His jazz CD, “Bass Etude” earned him a Jazz Album of the Year Hoku in 2006 while his work on the compilation CD “The Hawaii Classic Series Vol.1 - Vintage” provided his second Male Vocalist of the Year award.  He was awarded his third Male Vocalist of the Year Hoku in 2007 for his work on “The Hawaii Classic Series Vol.2: Hula”.

This performance will showcase all facets of Nathan’s virtuosity.  Backed by Steve Jones on bass and Lopaka Colon on percussion, expect to hear Nathan’s music live like you’ve never heard it before!  Nathan will be joined on stage by the dancers of Halau Hula Lani Ola for several of his songs, making this a wonderful evening of music, dance and Aloha.
