Pianist Rodolfo Leone Performs in the Inaugural Colburn @Soka: Artists on the Rise Series at Soka Performing Arts Center


Aliso Viejo, CA – Pianist Rodolfo Leone performs at Soka Performing Arts Center on Sunday, October 29, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. as a part of the Colburn at Soka: Artists on the Rise Series. In collaboration with the Colburn School in Los Angeles, this new chamber music series features outstanding young soloists and ensembles, specially chosen by the Colburn faculty for their artistry and professional potential. The first concert will feature the Grand Prize winner of the 15th International Beethoven Piano Competition Vienna 2017, Rodolfo Leone. The program will be Beethoven’s Hammerklavier and Rachmaninoff’s Sonata No. 2 as well as two preludes.

Leone is currently earning his Artist Diploma from the Colburn Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles, California, in the studio of Fabio Bidini. In April 2016, he made his Los Angeles debut at Walt Disney Concert Hall with the Colburn Orchestra conducted by Stéphane Denève. A top-prize winner at several major piano competitions, Leone was also awarded second prize at the 2013 Busoni International Piano Competition (first prize was not awarded). Leone has performed extensively throughout Europe, North America and China in venues such as the Great Hall of the Musikverein in Vienna, Austria; Steinway Hall in London, United Kingdom; the Music Hall of the NCPA in Beijing, China and Koerner Hall in Toronto, Canada.
