In a concert which presents two of classical music’s most exciting rising stars, mezzo-soprano Kayleigh Decker and pianist Shunta Morimoto, take the stage with Scott Dunn and the Four Seasons Orchestra for an evening of mesmerizing artistry and emotional depth. Decker, praised for her “pure vocal gold,” will showcase her rich, shimmering mezzo voice in a performance of three of Mahler’s exquisite Rückert-Lieder. Morimoto, the prodigious young pianist from Kyoto, Japan, known for his technical brilliance and profound emotional connection with audiences, will offer a powerful interpretation of Brahms’ monumental Second Piano Concerto. The program opens with the West Coast premiere of a work by Dunn’s mentor, Sir Rodney Bennett whose brilliant Partita (1995) is a dazzling fusion of classical and contemporary music. With Decker’s expressive vocal presence and Morimoto’s captivating piano artistry, this performance promises an unforgettable evening of music that transcends boundaries and touches the soul.
