Ikeda College – Undergraduate Studies
SUA offers a study abroad program in Aix-en-Provence through CEA CAPA. This program is best suited for students with lower-level French.

Location
Aix-en-Provence is located in southern France, about 19 miles north of Marseille and a three-hour train ride from Paris. The population is just greater than 140,000.
Education
Aix-en-Provence has long been a university town and remains an important educational center with a large number of post-secondary institutions and specialized schools.
Culture
Aix-en-Provence is recognized for two large summer music festivals: an opera festival and a jazz festival. It also has several art museums and galleries.
I absolutely loved my program … The whole experience was above and beyond what I could have asked for.
Program Characteristics
The fall semester takes place from early September to mid-December. The spring semester takes place from early January to late April.
- 2.5 GPA
You will be placed in one of four language levels and can take electives in your designated level.
You may take day or overnight excursions to places such as the Luberon, Arles, Camargue, and Cassis. A variety of local cultural activities are available through the CEA CAPA resident staff.
You will live in a CEA CAPA-approved apartment or a homestay with a French family. Homestays are highly recommended.
