Ikeda College – Undergraduate Studies
Guanajuato is known for opulent colonial buildings, stunning tree-filled plazas, and charming cobblestone roads. The steep slopes are lined with brightly colored houses along a narrow ravine that leads to museums, theaters, and marketplaces.
Guanajuato’s name is derived from the Purépecha word Cuanaxhuato, which means the mountainous place of frogs.
Program Characteristics
Cumulative GPA – 2.5
The Language, Culture and Community Service program in Guanajuato is designed to provide students with an intellectually rigorous experience. Students are expected to speak Spanish at all times, except in emergencies.
Students with Spanish B2 level may choose to take university courses with locals. Soka students can participate in a local volunteer opportunity working with in education with children.
Participants will live with a Mexican host family.
