SUA offers a study abroad program in Valparaíso through ISA.

Location
Valparaíso is a port city on the coast of Chile. It has a metropolitan population of nearly 1 million.

Architecture
Nicknamed “Jewel of the Pacific,” Valparaíso’s unique architecture has earned the city protection as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Art
Valparaíso is known for its art. It is the location of famous poet Pablo Neruda’s home as well as a number of vibrant and elaborate street murals.
I never imagined before going to Chile that I would build such strong connections with local people, take initiative, and become more open to different ideas and cultures.
ISA, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso Program Characteristics
This program is for students with lower-level Spanish proficiency.
The fall semester takes place from mid-July to mid-December. The spring semester begins in late February and ends in late June.
2.5 GPA
You will enroll in the Spanish and Latin American Studies program, designed for all levels of proficiency.
You can take excursions to destinations such as Horcón and Zapallar, Isla Negra, Pucón, Santiago, National Stadium, and Valle Nevado.
You will live with a Chilean host family which provides three meals a day and laundry.
