SUA offers a study abroad program at Universidad de Barcelona through ISA. This program is suited for students from beginning to advanced language levels.
Architecture
The Basilica de la Sagrada Família is one of the most iconic examples of Antoni Gaudí’s unique style, combining elements of Art Nouveau, Catalan Modernism and Spanish Late Gothic design. The theme of nature can be found throughout Gaudí’s designs.
Food
Paella is a classic Sunday lunchtime meal, designed to be lingered over with friends and family. Students enjoy a cooking class making this classic Spanish dish.

Sports
The Catalan capital of Barcelona is home to FC Barcelona. Barça is one of the most popular and successful football teams of all time. The city has a rich football culture. Enthusiastic locals, as well as visitors from all around the world, fill the streets, bars, and stadiums to celebrate the national sport.
PROGRAM CHARACTERISTICS
The Fall semester is from early September to late December. The Spring semester is from early January to early May.

This program is great for students looking for courses in Spanish language, Hispanic studies, or business. This program offers a variety of Hispanic studies and international business courses in both English and Spanish. All classes are held at the Universidad de Barcelona with other visiting international students and are taught by Universidad de Barcelona professors. Language courses are offered from beginning to advanced levels.
Two options
Homestay: Students typically share a room with an ISA roommate. Breakfast and dinner are included seven days a week (except for ISA excursion days). Laundry service is once a week.
Residencia: Students typically share a room with an ISA roommate. Kitchen is shared by two to 10 students, depending on residencia availability. Residencias are not located on campus but in the city center. Coin laundry is available onsite.
Three to four field trips included with ISA.
The architecture in Barcelona is stunning and unique, ranging from medieval castles to the modernist buildings of Antoni Gaudí. Barcelona is a bilingual city; many inhabitants of the region speak both Spanish and Catalán, the official language of Catalonia. Visit one of the many beaches (platjas) in and around the city: Barceloneta, Nova Icaria, Bogatell, and Mar Bella to name a few. Tour the many world famous museums such as the Pablo Picasso Museum, Fundació Miró, MNAC (the National Museum of Catalunya), and MACBA
Explore the markets of Barcelona in La Boqueria (the most well-known; located on Las Ramblas), Fira Artesana, and Mercat Del Encants
