Ikeda College – Undergraduate Studies
SUA offers a study abroad program at Universidad Veritas in San Jose through ISA. This program is best suited for students with lower-level Spanish proficiency.

Location
Located in the center of the country, San Jose is the largest city and capital of Costa Rica. The metropolitan area has more than 2 million residents.

Sightseeing
San Jose is close to many stunning attractions such as the Arenal Volcano National Park, the towns of La Fortuna and Tamarindo, and many waterfalls.

Food
Costa Rica is known for fresh seafood, but the most popular meal in San Jose is gallo pinto, a mixture of fried rice and black beans. It is usually eaten for breakfast with tortillas and a thin sour cream.
Most of the fun and discoveries that I encountered were from my own connection with local friends.
Program Characteristics
This program is only offered in the fall semester, which takes place from late August to mid-December.
2.5 GPA
You will take one month of intensive Spanish followed by three months of courses of your choice, earning up to 16 credits.
You may participate in excursions to the Arenal volcano, the town of La Fortuna, and Tamarindo.
You will live with a Costa Rican host family. Allowance for lunches is provided by SUA.
